From December 14 – 18, places of worship across the nation will join the Newtown Foundation and other gun violence prevention agencies to remember the many lives taken by gun violence and to pray for those whose lives have been forever changed because of injury or loss of a loved one.
On December 14, you are invited to be part of an interfaith worship service and candlelight vigil marking the 4th anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that took the lives of 20 little children and their educators. More than 120,000 more have died and 300,000 injured by gun violence since that tragic day. Join us as we pray for guidance, seeking ways to reduce gun violence in our nation. As people of faith, we heed the words of Leviticus 19:16, telling us we cannot “stand idly by” as our “neighbor’s blood is shed.”
